Sustainable Development

Further to our discussion today in class, I have found an article (see hyperlink below) on an initiative that the Irish government organisation Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) has taken in Ireland to try and encourage business organisations to review their practices on energy use.
Big Ten Firms agree to Energy Review
SEI says that the companies who have agreed to the initiative can be expected to save up to €20m between them over the next three years by doing so.
Interestingly, in Ireland, 10% of companies account for 90% of overall energy use. This article points out just one of the initiatives that the Irish Government is doing to try and promote sustainable development in the country.
Go on Ireland!!!
